The top 10 LAWS for amazing marketing - (Marketing Part 1)

Hey, Marketing can get cheap and profitable if you know the LAWS of marketing. Most people spend a lot of money on marketing but in the end, they don't find any profit because if you make the world's best plane but if you don't understand the law of physics then the plane will not gonna fly just as like as marketing, if you don't understand the laws of marketing then your marketing will not gonna work.

Companies spend over $500 Billion on just marketing in 2018 and that's why marketing is so important for your product.

Law of Leader:
This law says that it's better to become the marketplace leader by doing something different without competing with others. By doing something different it grabs people's attention and then it becomes to get viral and then people started to talk about your product and your consumer started to tell others about your product. Well, that's the power of doing some kind of different marketing. Creative marketing is way more powerful than normal marketing because different is better than normal.

Some more examples are:

This unusual type of marketing creates a space in your Subconscious Mind in which you get attracted towards this type of marketing and don't forget it so easily. This law is very powerful and will help you a lot in your marketing but if you are like "Dude, I can't have a truck or building because it's so expensive then what should I do?" the answer to this question is very simple you can do different types of marketing in a cheaper way also which can get viral too.

Some examples of low-cost Marketing are:

Law of Category
Be the leader in your niche and market by doing creative things. To become the leader in your niche is do things which others are not doing and then you can famous and become a leader in that niche like Nike is a leader in sport's shoe category and many other companies like Samsung, Dell, Apple etc.

Did you know Samsung also make tanks, Military cars, ships?
Yes, they also make Tanks! but they are a leader in the mobile category.

Law of Mind
It's one of the most important things in Marketing because this law says that you need to create an image in people's mind. For example, if you need to search something then you'll go to Google because it has higher Brand equity than any other search engine. If you are hungry then you would order a pizza from Dominos because they create a name in your mind in different situations. If you are thirsty then you would get a Coke. You have to create your brand name in people mind through marketing.

Law of Perception
It's not about the battle of products amongst companies, it's the battle of perception amongst companies. you need a high level of perception in people's mind. If you are able to create a high level of perception in people's mind then your customer doesn't even think to switch to other products even if the other one is better too. Apple phones might not be good as other phones in the market but people have a high level of perception about iPhone that's the reason why people still buy the expensive iPhone instead of buying other cheap and fast devices. That's the power of perception.

Law of Focus
Different companies focus on some specific word or line because if people hear about their word or line then they want to be the first brand that comes in their mind. if I say "It's finger lickin' good" then the first brand which comes into your mind will be KFC. Focus on some catchy taglines and market upon that will help you a lot. Some big companies which focus on taglines are

Law of Exclusivity
This says that you should avoid the same lines or taglines used by other big brands because after Apple there are so many companies which used the same tagline "Think different" but didn't got much success as Apple because they indirectly keep remembering them of Apple. That's the reason why should avoid using other taglines. An original is worth more than a copy.

Law of Ladder
Do marketing on the basis of your position on the ladder and understand your position on the ladder then made marketing campaigns to help you increase your sales. For example, Hertz is an American car rental company and is on the number 1 spot and Avis was also a car rental company but they were on the 2nd spot. Avis does marketing by understanding their position on the ladder and market by this tagline "We are no. 2, we try harder choose us" and this type of marketing gave Avis a huge amount of profit.

Law of Duality
There will be an opponent which will compete with you badly in every market but you could take advantage of this competition by taking fight passionately you could make people a strong supporter because people love to take sides and if your believes and features is different than your opponent then you should market it without any doubt. Many big companies take fight passionately with their opponent like

I am with Marvel

and... Starbucks vs Dunkin Donuts

Dunkin Donuts also has a merch which has written "Friends don't let friends drink Starbucks" on it which shows the power of duality.

Law of Opposite
You can't compete Big marketplace leaders on their strong point you have to use their strength as their weakness by stronger in opposite strength. For example, If dominos do marketing by "30 Minutes or else free" then it's their strength you have to market opposite to it like "We take some time but our pizza is best".

Law of perspective
You have to create marketing for Long-Term not for Short-Term because if a person sees a Mcdonald ad then he'll don't turn his T.V. off and go to Mcdonald right on that time but if he'll get hungry in future then he'll only choose Mcdonald and won't go to any other restaurant. That's why long-term marketing is more beneficial than short-term. Long-Term ads increase more trust and value and Jeff Bezos who is the richest person in this world dedicated herself to long-term thinking. Three learnings from Jeff are

Be Patient
The customer is the king
Think for Long-Term

Well, marketing is one of the most important things in your business but the most important thing in your business is your product

You should give 80% to Product and 20% to Marketing but that 20% also matters.

There are total 22 Laws but I tell about only 10 most important laws but if you want to know about others too then you can get this book.
